American Dream CPA PLLC, a Tampa-based CPA firm, is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced QuickBooks accountant or bookkeeper to join our Client Accounting Services department. This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly bookkeeping for approximately 60 clients.
  • Reconcile general ledger and QuickBooks transactions on a daily basis.
  • Set up and maintain account structures and automation rules in QuickBooks.
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, with all bookkeeping completed by the last day of the following month.
  • Onboard new clients into QuickBooks.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness, including line-item variance analysis and comparison to prior periods. Investigate and resolve discrepancies prior to presenting financials to the Tax team.
  • Maintain consistent and accurate account mapping through proactive client communication.
  • Organize and maintain standardized master general ledgers across client accounts.
  • Post journal entries, including depreciation, amortization, and payroll adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with the Tax team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.

Qualifications necessary for this position:

  • Associate degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a CPA firm, legal practice, or medical office.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting data entry into tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, UltraTax, or Drake) is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated professional who takes ownership of their work, demonstrates initiative, and consistently delivers high-quality results on time. Please note: this is not an entry-level position and requires existing proficiency in QuickBooks.

This position includes a 60-day evaluation period to full-time employment.
