Job Title: Commercial Interior Designer

Location: Orlando, FL 32804

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Position Overview:

As a Commercial Interior Designer, you will work closely with clients, architects, and other design professionals to conceptualize and execute interior design solutions for a variety of commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of commercial interiors. You will be responsible for the entire design process, from initial concept development to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop creative and functional design concepts for commercial spaces, including offices, retail stores, restaurants, and other business environments.
• Work with clients to understand their design preferences, functional requirements, and brand identity.
• Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, and 3D renderings to clients.
• Select furniture, finishes, color schemes, lighting, and materials to create cohesive and innovative designs.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure designs are implemented accurately and within budget.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage and coordinate procurement of design materials, furniture, and equipment.
• Conduct site visits to assess design implementation and resolve any issues that may arise.

Technical Proficiencies:

• Experienced in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in 3D software (CET, some SketchUp).
• Familiar with specification software (SPEC, CAP).
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
• Skilled in layout for installation drawings and presentation packages.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have a degree in Interior Design.
• Must be proficient in CET and AutoCAD.
• Must develop knowledge and proficiency in sales and presentation skills.
• Ability to assist in the assembly of presentation materials that convey a professional appearance, reflecting quality and craftsmanship in coordination of materials and finishes.
• Must have a strong understanding of the mathematics required to complete all phases of the design process.
• Ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work effectively both as a team player and on individual projects.
• Must be open to receiving direction and constructive criticism to develop and apply interior design skills.
• Flexible and resourceful, able to cope with the time pressures and coordination challenges inherent in the position.
