Please note this position is located onsite about 2.5 hours from Austin, in Brownwood, TX.

Job Description

This Superintendent position plays a critical leadership role in the success of Federal construction projects. Depending on project size and complexity, the Superintendent may oversee the entire project lifecycle or specific scopes ranging from foundation and structure through MEP systems and interior finishes. This position works as an equal partner with the Project Manager to jointly lead project performance from start to finish.

The Superintendent acts as a leader, coach, communicator, and negotiator, ensuring that the project meets expectations in safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

Project Start Up and Turnover

  • Identify pre mobilization activities with the Project Manager
  • Develop the project start up schedule
  • Review subcontractor and vendor scopes of work

Scheduling

  • Update and implement field construction schedules
  • Establish and maintain the Project Baseline Schedule
  • Ensure that work aligns with contract requirements and client expectations
  • Provide regular schedule updates, including three week look ahead reports

Safety

  • Conduct safety pre construction meetings with all subcontractors
  • Review site daily to ensure compliance with OSHA, regulatory requirements, and the project specific safety plan

Quality Management

  • Insert key benchmarks into the baseline schedule
  • Confirm appropriate stakeholders are members of the quality team
  • Oversee delivery inspections, benchmark inspections, and documentation
  • Ensure inspection approvals are communicated to the project team

Subcontractor and Site Management

  • Manage site pre construction, staging plans, and job site utilization
  • Mobilize and maintain the field office to required standards
  • Review percent complete values for subcontractor pay applications
  • Maintain organized site documentation using Bluebeam Revu
  • Hold subcontractors accountable to performance, quality, and conduct standard

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of Federal construction experience as a Lead Superintendent
  • Experience managing US Army Corps of Engineers projects
  • Proven background leading projects of $10M or more
