A well‑established manufacturing company in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead and enhance its Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This is a hands‑on role offering the opportunity to shape safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive measurable improvements in a fast‑paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Lead development and execution of programs to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards, including chemical, physical, and biological risks. Conduct inspections, audits, and field measurements; analyze data to guide safety improvements and regulatory compliance. Maintain hazardous materials documentation and ensure effective communication of safety protocols. Recommend and implement controls to minimize employee exposure and environmental risks. Serve as a subject matter expert to management, employees, and regulatory agencies on safety, environmental compliance, and emergency response. Develop and deliver employee training on health, safety, and environmental practices. Act as primary contact for EHS emergencies, including incident response and reporting. Track and report safety performance metrics to leadership and regulatory authorities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 5 years of hands‑on EHS management experience within manufacturing operations. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and experience conducting compliance audits. Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with ERP systems. Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing reports and leading training programs. Ability to influence stakeholders and respond effectively to emergencies. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to equipment, chemicals, noise, and vibration. Use of PPE, including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and bump caps; additional PPE as required. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally. Capable of standing for long periods and performing activities requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, or balancing. Fine motor skills for handling and manipulating small objects. Standard 40‑hour work week; overtime may be required.
