Overview SciensBuilding Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written are important elements of the position. What you\'ll be doing Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales departments for a successful project execution. Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity. Program, commission and obtain final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) of complex fire alarm systems. Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA. Troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective resolutions. Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets. Program systems via laptop computers. Provide oversight for project inventory and vehicle inventory. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians. Be customer-focused and skilled in project and people management. Manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality. Proficient in issue resolution. Demonstrate excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills. Knowledge of the fire industry and OSHA safety standards. Ability to travel occasionally overnight as needed. What we like about you Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the fire detection and protection environment. Knowledge of current fire alarm systems. Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems using a laptop computer. Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements. Knowledge of Florida fire procedures, filing, and requirements.
