HELP OUT: Summer Family Day with Model Railroad Museum The San Diego Model Railroad Museum's Family Days are a gift to the families in thecommunity. All children are free and all activities are included in regular admission. SDMRM loves seeing how happy the visitors are at Family Days, and can't do it without their positive volunteers. To celebrate the start of summer, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum will host a Summer Kick Off Family Day where guests will make their way around the museum while participating in summer-themed crafts, a scavenger hunt, and games! Volunteers will assist with the event setup and breakdown. During the event, they will attend the craft tables, assist children/guests with crafts, and restock craft supplies. Volunteers will also be positioned around the museum to help with the scavenger hunt, games, and directing participants to different areas of the event. Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Attire: Wear casual, comfortable shoes and clothing. This opportunity takes place indoors. Physical Requirements: Volunteers will be standing, sitting, and lifting. SDMRM is happy to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations with sitting or standing, and the space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible. Waiver: Volunteers will be asked to sign a liability waiver and a photo release upon arrival. Photos: Volunteers may take photos of the layouts and the museum but not of the visitors. About San Diego Model Railroad Museum The mission of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum is to preserve the heritage of railroading through a series of miniature representations of California railroads, research and preserve the history of model railroading, and educate the public in the many different aspects of railroading.
