Job Description

The work of a U.S. Army Infectious Disease Officer provides information and research about infectious diseases to benefit the Army.

As an Infectious Disease Officer, youll be responsible for studying the causes, effects, and patterns of infectious diseases, including biological warfare threats. Through research, you will work to confirm, diagnose, treat and control the transmission of infectious diseases within the military and communities you support. You will participate in humanitarian missions to address the spread of infectious diseases and find new ways to prevent them.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have a Master of Science in Infectious Disease
  • Must have a license to practice from the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Must be between 21 and 42 years of age
  • Must have a U.S. citizenship to serve Active Duty
  • Must have a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve
