Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes. Provides outpatient care, consultation, and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties. Serves as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient's health problems. Job Summary Provides professional leadership and advanced knowledge in the practice of lactation management. Assesses patient's needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes. Education Required: Academic degree in nursing or food and nutrition Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or food and nutrition" Experience Required: Experience working with Mother Baby couplets in low and high-risk situations Certifications Required: Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession (such as Registered Nurse, Registered Dietitian) as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. Must be certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). AHA BLS.
