Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing new technologies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components, systems, and equipment, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, production managers, and quality assurance personnel to translate design requirements into manufacturable products.
  3. Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment necessary for production, considering factors such as cost, safety, and ergonomic considerations.
  4. Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to evaluate the manufacturability of new designs and identify potential areas for improvement.
  5. Identify and troubleshoot issues related to manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials, and implement corrective actions to ensure smooth production operations.
  6. Stay abreast of advancements in manufacturing technologies and processes relevant to the aerospace industry, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
  7. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and equipment required for manufacturing, ensuring compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules.

  9. Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introduction (NPI) projects, from prototype development to full-scale production.
  10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall manufacturing performance.
  11. Conduct training sessions for production personnel to ensure proper understanding and execution of manufacturing processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
  2. Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies.
  3. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling and fixture design (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
  4. Familiarity with quality management systems and standards relevant to aerospace manufacturing (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  8. Knowledge of aerospace regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  10. Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, conferences, and customer meetings.
