Manufacturing Operator (2nd Shift) – Roche Manufacturing Operator (2nd Shift) role at Roche. The Position The Manufacturing Operator performs a wide variety of electronic, electro‑mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub‑assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding and fitting on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications. Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods with a moderate degree of supervision. Responsibilities Executing the process of assembly, filling, labeling & packaging equipment of varying complexity and in accordance with production manufacturing records, operating procedure requirements to produce finished intermediates and final kits while meeting production targets. Capability to perform basic transactions within highly complex systems and controls in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., receive, process, build product/materials, facilitate material availability, SAP transactions/confirmations). Running automated systems/equipment and sequences of operation, including: equipment setup, operation, and cleaning; monitoring and performing basic troubleshooting. Participating in the execution of protocol/validations. Being a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more areas of production and contributing to daily end of shift reports and pass‑downs. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED required (associate’s degree preferred). 2+ years relevant work experience, preferably in a GMP environment. Experience with automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment, validated software systems used to maintain quality, inventory and processes. Familiarity with sensors, motors, cylinders, etc., and with use of hand tools and test equipment. Experience with SAP required. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement. Experience with Google products (gMail, gSheets, gDoc, etc.), preferred. Ability to use precision tools. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. Physical Conditions & PPE Requirements Required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, crouch for a combined 4 or more hours per day; push, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds; repetitive, consistent movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; maintain good near visual acuity; work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; work from lifts and ladders; manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies; concurrently manipulate multiple controls and machinery; wear and work in personal protective equipment. This essential position requires attendance on weekends, holidays and during emergency or exceptional conditions. Compensation The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is $43,000.00 – $79,800.00 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
