Apple Valley Animal Hospital is seeking a team-oriented and enthusiastic  Medical Director to join our team in  Winchester, Virginia!

**$140K Salary (varies based on Experience/Qualifications)

An experienced Veterinarian who cares about practicing high-quality medicine, desire for leadership, communicates effectively, cares deeply about clients and their pets, and enjoys working with quality staff in a busy but rewarding practice. 

Apple Valley Animal Hospital was built in the\nearly 1990s by Drs. Marietta and Kim Walls, both graduates of Virginia Tech.\nThey had a vision of a veterinary hospital that treats pets with the same level\nof medical care, compassion, and attention as given to human patients. Now they\nare planning for retirement and looking for a new Medical Director to lead\nApple Valley.

As a Medical\nDirector at Apple Valley Animal Hospital, you will receive:

About the Hospital:

• 3 exam rooms
\n
• Our in-house\n laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology,\n urinalysis and parasite testing.
\n
• Digital\n radiography—both standard and dental
\n
• State-of-the-art\n surgical suite
\n
• Laser therapy
\n
• Stem cell therapy/PRP
\n

Medical\nDirector Leadership Qualities, Responsibilities & Qualifications:

You should be passionate about providing quality medicine,\nclient education, and exceptional service to our loyal clientele.

Advancing\nMedical Care

\n
• Oversee surgical and\n medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate\n estimates, and client communication and education
\n
• Answer client\n questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical procedures
\n
• Provide\n oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and\n inventory
\n
• Minimize waste and\n controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and\n drug inventories
\n

Leading\nStaff and Practice

\n
• Participate in\n recruiting and interviewing process for Doctors and, when appropriate,\n general staff members
\n
• Be passionate about\n Mentoring other Associates
\n
• Monitor Doctor\n performance and production
\n
• Ensure all medical\n staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new\n graduates
\n
• Support the Hospital\n Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensure
\n

In\nPartnership with Hospital Leadership Team

\n
• Drive revenue and\n contribute to hospital growth, including managing hospital expenses
\n
• Assist in the\n preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget and capital\n budget
\n
• Monitor key financial\n reports
\n
• Drive patient visits\n and encourages community involvement
\n
• Embrace change and\n support interests within the hospital
\n
• Monitor client\n service, marketing, and growth initiatives
\n
