Description:

The Physician Liaison will be responsible for obtaining patient referrals from Alaska area primary care and specialist physicians through regular contact with these physicians and their office staff. Performing duties that support the goals of the clinics that are encompassed under Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation referral growth through provider satisfaction, education and communication.

This role will represent clinics under the AIOF’s umbrella medical services and programs by visiting physician practices, healthcare providers, and community organizations to promote the service lines of the practice. The Physician Liaison will also provide internal support by communicating concerns identified in the field to the appropriate parties and alerting the administration of potential strategic opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains strong service relationships with specialty and primary care providers through regular site visits.
  • Ensures current maintenance of provider contact list information.
  • Maintains an effective recording system to document calls, responses and activities.
  • Identify issues and concerns from referring offices and communicate them back to practice.
  • Facilitates meetings for our physician(s) and staff with referral sources and coordinates “lunch and learns” or requested dinners by physicians (or other forums) to discuss new clinical offerings.
  • Facilitates community outreach, speaking and education opportunities for the practice.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with institutional healthcare providers including hospitals and population services administrations.
  • Communicates to the executive team any market changes or strategic opportunities.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information coming into and being disseminated out of the center.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or equivalent field preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare sales or outreach experience preferred.
  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license is required.
