Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Review Appraiser is a member of the Real Estate Technical Services Group. In connection with Busey Bank Policy, FIRREA, USPAP and the Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines (IAG) regarding real-estate-related financial transactions, this associate is responsible for managing the valuation process for a given workload/que, which may include consultation with Busey associates and third party vendors, valuation product procurement, completing appraisal reviews, internal evaluations, and validations connected to commercial lending activities for residential and commercial real estate.

Additional Duties:
  • Understands FIRREA, USPAP and the Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines.
  • Has dialogue with lenders and appraisers as to issues in the valuation process.
  • Understands the commercial loan process and its documentation as well as the appraisal, evaluation, validation, and environmental report process.
  • Organizes the appraisal, evaluation, validation, and environmental report ordering process in RIMS.
  • Accepts requests from lenders/coordinators. Contacts appraisers/vendors for completing requests.
  • Utilizes RIMS to process valuation requests associated with commercial lending activities.
  • Updates information in RIMS and maintains database records of all reports.
  • Reads residential and commercial real estate appraisals and completes appraisal reviews.
  • Uses outside appraisers or the Commercial Appraisal Services Manager to complete the technical reviews, as required by bank policy.
  • Completes internal evaluations, validations and reviews environmental reports and evaluations.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Knowledge of:
  • Policy and federal regulations including, but not limited to, FDIC and FIRREA regulations.

  • Commercial loan process and its documentation
  • Understanding of valuation services as described in USPAP, including but not limited to, appraisal and appraisal review standards, process, procedures, techniques and reporting.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree.
  • Requires a State issued Certified General Appraisal License
  • Requires 3 or more years of Commercial Real Estate experience
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
