Job Overview - School Nurse (RN/LPN):
Compensation: $38 - $48/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Scranton, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a School Nurse (RN/LPN) with our client in Scranton, PA. In this on-site role, you will manage medication administration, monitor students with medical needs, ensure compliance with physicians' orders, and conduct medication audits. You will also educate staff on safe practices and support students with autism, emotional needs, or chronic conditions.

Responsibilities as the School Nurse (RN/LPN):

• Student Health Management: Provide daily nursing care, assessments, and monitoring for students with acute and chronic medical needs.
• Medication Oversight: Supervise medication administration, ensure compliance with physicians' orders, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Medication Audits & Safety: Conduct regular audits, monitor side effects, and educate staff on safe medication practices.
• Health Training & Education: Develop and deliver medical training programs to faculty and support staff on health and safety procedures.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to child safety policies, incident reporting, health regulations, and school-wide protocols.

Qualifications for the School Nurse (RN/LPN):

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Licensure: Current and active Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required.
• Certification: CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Experience: Prior experience in school nursing, pediatrics, behavioral health, or caring for children with autism or emotional and developmental challenges.
• Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in computer systems and communication platforms such as Zoom, Excel, and EMRs.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with school health regulations, individualized health plans, immunization requirements, and student safety protocols.
• Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient-focused nurse with strong communication, organization, and assessment skills, able to respond effectively in fast-paced school settings.
