Description:
Our client is seeking a Data Analyst focused on operational spend, cost optimization, and forecasting to provide financial and strategic clarity across business units. This role will play a critical part in identifying cost drivers, tracking operational metrics, improving spend efficiency, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
You’ll be responsible for building dashboards, developing cost forecasts, analyzing vendor contracts, and tracking expenses across HR, IT, facilities, software, and professional services. This role requires someone who’s comfortable working with multiple data sources and stakeholders, building descriptive and prescriptive models, and delivering high-impact insights to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a deep understanding of best practices, has a sharp eye for financial trends, and is proactive in finding ways to reduce costs while improving value.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct deep-dive cost analysis and present insights to executive leadership: • Analyze spend across all key operational areas (HR, vendors, facilities, IT, services, and software) • Create and maintain metrics dashboards for spend performance, forecast variance, and cost drivers • Partner with Finance to develop and refine cost forecasts tied to business goals and planning • Identify savings opportunities through benchmarking, vendor consolidation, and usage analysis • Collaborate across departments to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business strategies • Deliver descriptive, diagnostic, and prescriptive analytics that support smart budget allocation • Develop models to forecast cost impact of changes in hiring, technology, or vendor relationships • Generate reports and visuals that make complex cost data easily understandable for all stakeholders
