Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team under the direct supervision of the Director of Estimating. In this role, you'll be instrumental in providing accurate cost estimates for our projects, ensuring our continued success in the industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Thoroughly review construction documents, including drawings and specifications, to accurately assess project scope for bidding purposes.
· Conduct detailed take-offs of construction documents and input data into computer spreadsheets.
· Source material pricing and gather subcontractor bids as needed.
· Collaborate closely with our bid team to maintain project timelines and requirements.
· Communicate any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or databases to the immediate supervisor.
· Attend departmental meetings as required.
· Prepares cost analysis in computer by incorporating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
· Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate.
· Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
· Ability to value engineer electrical jobs.
· Leadership skills to grow the department.
Job Specifications:
· Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
· Experience: 3-5 years Accubid experience required.
· Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Construction estimating is a plus.
· Experience with EV projects, light electrical rollout projects, lighting retrofits, electrical, lighting, and signage maintenance contracts, and signage installs.
· Proficient in reading and understanding architectural, civil, and electrical blueprints.
· Computer Skills: Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
