Senior Interior Designer Job Description

Requirements and Responsibilities

• Client-facing, ensuring strong relationships and satisfaction, while also overseeing and mentoring junior staff to foster their development and align their efforts with company goals.

• Craft proposals for new projects, partnerships, or business opportunities to drive growth and innovation.

• Create functional and aesthetic designs that enhance a living space based on the needs of the client. Plan the use and layout of space and decorating with color, furniture, fixtures, etc.

• Research, design, select, specify and document furniture, fixtures, lighting, finishes, millwork, etc.

• Oversee all phases of each project, including conceptual design to construction administration through installations.

• Schedule, prepare and lead design meetings with clients and contractors.

• Develop drawings, presentations, and cost estimates and coordinate the work of contractors.

• The Interior Designer Vs works autonomously.

• Provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in specialization.

• A specialist in complex technical and business matters requires state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.

• Requires a bachelor's degree in interior design.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in interior design.

• Project management, new construction and renovation experience.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced detail-oriented fun environment.

• Strong organization and time management skills.

• Team player with a willingness to learn and guide junior members of the team.

• Strong communication/interpersonal skills

• Self-starter that can work both in a team and independently.

• Proficiency in Project Management Software, AutoCAD, Excel, Photoshop, Sketchup & the Microsoft Suite.

• Knowledge of high-end furniture, finishes, materials, vendors and fabricators.
