Job Overview As an Operations Generalist, you’ll ensure our merchandising and inventory strategies are executed across the Pet Care Center utilizing our Petco processes. You will maintain efficient operations to meet guest and pet needs, performing tasks such as stocking shelves, cleaning the center, operating the cash register, and providing an excellent guest experience. Position Responsibilities Maintain and inventory the entire Pet Care Center. Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, and displayed. Process register transactions to create a great guest experience. Use our selling model to support guest interactions. Support animal care procedures and promote pet health. Complete training programs to maintain a high level of expertise. Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration. Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed. Other Essential Duties Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience. Contribute to a safe environment, maintaining safety protocols. Be part of a collaborative culture focused on pet health and wellness. Engage in your career development through petco’s training programs. Basic Qualifications High school diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in mathematics and above-average communication skills. Professional appearance and demeanor with genuine interest in animal care. Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills due to interaction with the public and store partners. Education / Skills In addition to a high school diploma or GED, demonstrate proficiency in mathematics, basic accounting relationships, and exceptional communication skills. Work Environment Majority of duties are indoors. Responsibilities may include bending, kneeling, moving merchandise up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods.
