Physicians independently perform a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections and are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics and/or therapeutic procedures for patients. Job Requirements include: Graduate of an accredited medical school required; 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required; Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required; Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred; Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine; Active state medical licensure; Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting; Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc. Preferred knowledge and skills include experience with Electronic Medical Records, strong listening, communication and customer service skills. Job Responsibilities include examining and treating patients, taking medical histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays, making diagnoses and prescribing medications, treating minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting, recording progress notes, educating and counseling patients, giving vaccinations, referring patients to additional care, supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely, acting as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in credentialing process, and working anticipated eight or twelve hour shifts. Additional duties may be assigned by management.
