Position: Commercial Property Bookkeeper
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Commercial Property Bookkeeper to join our team. This full-time, on-site position in Knoxville, TN, involves managing accounting tasks for our property management portfolio to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for clients.

This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills who thrives in a dynamic environment and seeks to grow within a company that values integrity, teamwork, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify payments and cleared checks.
  • Ensure proper classification of items in the general ledger and maintain accurate GL charts for each property.
  • Manage the weekly accounts payable workflow and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and bank partners, promptly assisting with requests.
  • Record month-end journal entries and prepare/review monthly financial reports to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and conduct annual reconciliations for recoverable charges.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of 1099 forms to meet IRS deadlines.
  • Create and distribute monthly management and maintenance invoices for each property.
  • Oversee the tenant chargeback process for tenant-paid expenses.
  • Review aged receivables monthly and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Track property tax payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend company and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
  • Detail-oriented and highly adaptable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Suites.
  • Experience with AppFolio or Bill.com is a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property or facilities management.
