Job Title: HR Intern

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Department: HR

Reports to Title: HR Manager

Position Summary

As an HR intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources. You will work closely with the HR team to support recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and other HR functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
• Assist with onboarding new employees, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations, and updating employee records.
• Support employee relations activities, including investigating employee complaints, conducting exit interviews, and maintaining employee engagement initiatives.
• Assist with training and development initiatives, including coordinating training sessions, tracking employee training records, and evaluating training effectiveness.
• Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work on-site.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is performed in a office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Must be able to lift 50lb and must have knowledge of computers and be proficient in word and Excel.
