Base pay range: $40,664.00/yr - $79,476.80/yr Job Responsibilities The Senior Health Information Management Specialist will perform quality improvement monitoring necessary for organizing and maintaining an electronic patient record system. Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations of the electronic health record section, cross-training in all core Health Information Management functions, and ensuring quality and accuracy in record management. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (Required) 3 years of Health Information Management experience with emphasis on computer systems and customer service (Required) Skills and Knowledge Proficiency in a fully computerized environment, Windows Applications, and Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform problem-solving in a process-driven environment Strong auditing skills and computer keyboard proficiency Certifications Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Project management and system resource support Quality improvement activities including error correction and feedback Document preparation, scanning, indexing, and storage Retrieval of patient records and processing of death certificates Participation in after-hours phone coverage and release of information requests Organizational Values Customer focus, teamwork, communication, performance improvement, cost management, and safety Location and Schedule Location: Maryland-Silver Spring, with work at Dorchester Schedule: Day shift, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Employment Details Full-time, Regular employment status Additional Information Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Job function: Information Technology Industry: Hospitals and Health Care #J-18808-Ljbffr Children's National Hospital
