Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher – Moderate/Severe Disabilities

Location: Stockton, CA

Rate : $56 - $65/hr

Important Note: We are only recruiting local candidates or those currently residing in California.

We do not consider international applicants. Candidates from Southern California open to

relocating to Northern California are welcome to apply

Position Summary:

We are seeking qualified Special Day Class (SDC) Teachers -Moderate to Severe for Stockton city in

public school settings. You will play a vital role in supporting students with complex learning needs

by providing individualized instruction, collaborating with school teams, and fostering inclusive

environments where all students can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

 Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals for students with moderate to

severe disabilities.

 Manage classroom behavior and support functional skill development.

 Collaborate with related service providers (SLPs, OTs, psychologists, etc.) and school

administrators.

 Communicate effectively with families, case managers, and support staff.

 Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.

Required Qualifications:

 Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Moderate/Severe or equivalent).

 Experience in SDC classrooms, preferably in public schools.

 Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in Special Education with an

emphasis in Moderate/Severe Disabilities (Education Specialist Instruction Credential –

Moderate/Severe).

 Bachelor’s degree in education, Special Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred but

not required).

 Clear background check and fingerprint clearance through the California Department of

Justice (DOJ) and FBI.
