Summer School ESY Special Education Coordinator Join to apply for the Summer School ESY Special Education Coordinator role at Arlington Public Schools Summer School ESY Special Education Coordinator 6 months ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the Summer School ESY Special Education Coordinator role at Arlington Public Schools JOB DESCRIPTION: Program Dates: July 7, 2025 - August 2, 2025 Professional Days and Orientation: June 26-27, 30 and July 1, 2, and 3 (3rd is ½ day only) Model-In-Person Location-Elementary: Abingdon, Discovery, and Glebe (PK Developmental) Secondary: Dorothy Hamm and Washington-Liberty RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the ESY program in a variety of ways including modeling lessons, setting up and closing classes, packing up supplies, verifying progress reports have been completed Work directly with site administrators to place students appropriately Verify transportation requests and make corrections as needed Provide ongoing program support to teachers Provide input for ordering materials and maintain materials inventory; distribute materials Work collaboratively with the site administrators, ESY coordinator, and staff Provide special education teachers with support as needed Work collaboratively to manage significant behaviors Order materials, distribute materials and maintain books/materials inventory EXPERIENCE: Working with ESY students Writing and implementing IEPs Adapting curriculum and instruction to meet individual needs Managing concerns of staff Handling significant behavioral situations Working with children from diverse backgrounds QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a Virginia licensure in special education or related field Excellent organizational skills Available to work the week prior to the start of ESY and the entirety of ESY, no exceptions CONTACT INFORMATION: Instructions once hired: Once you have been hired, then you will need to sign your assignment letter and return it to HR through the link they send you. (Please note Salary earned relative to summer school employment will not be included in the employee’s creditable compensation amount reported to the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).) Retired APS teachers will be paid $49.29 per hour per APS pay plan. Non-APS licensed summer school teachers will be paid $36.68 per hour.
